Rotary, SLNI wants an end to maternal mortality

The  Rotary Club of Abuja Federal President, Rotarian Diana- Eyo- Enoette has called for critical  measures to reduce   Maternal mortality in the country, noting that the available  statistics is not Encouraging.
She made the disclosure at the Rotary Maternal and Child Health outreach in partnership SLNI in  Piwoyi Abuja, with the theme “Save a mother, Save a Child”.

  To this end, she called on all leaders in the country to engage in meaningful project that will aid in reducing maternal mortality in the country.
The Rotarian President hinted that the theme of the outreach is critical as it will create awareness among resident in the community, especially in taking preventive measures against Maternal mortality.
She further explained that Piwoyi Primary Health Care Centre is being adopted by the group so as to give them the necessary support.
“We distributed several items to the resident. They were also offered ante natal vitamins as well as several birthing materials.”  
Knowing fully well that information dissemination is critical to reducing maternal mortality, a medical expert informed  the resident on how to live healthy life during pregnancy, she added.

“The mothers were informed about the three semesters, and what to expect, and tips that will aid them during delivery”.
