CODE’s Senior Programmes Manager to Attend Obama Leaders Fellowship
The Obama Foundation, recently revealed that Connected Development’s [CODE] Senior Programmes Manager, Chambers Umezulike, has been selected as one of 200 emerging leaders from 45 countries across Africa to attend the Obama Leaders Fellowship.
In a statement signed by the CODE’s Communication Lead, Kevwe Oghide, it indicated that Obama Fellowship African Cohort will kick off between July 10-15, 2019 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
She said the announcement was made known by the Foundation’s Deputy Chief International Officer, Peter Rundlet.
“After receiving more than 21,000 eligibility questionnaires and nearly 7,000 completed applications from across the continent, we were faced with the incredibly difficult task of choosing 200 total participants from an outstanding pool”.
He added that the foundation’s effort was targeted at supporting the next generation of global leaders through programmes that empowered them with the tools needed to make their efforts more effective and impactful upon their return home.
Chambers Umezulike, supervises and manages CODE’s donor funded programs and is responsible for designing and supervising program implementation, drafting work plans and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning frameworks. He has managed programmes across the thematic areas of Water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH), Education and Health.
